Special Skills & Experience

MIKE BALDASSARI – is a Tony® and 2-time Emmy® nominated Lighting Designer whose work has been seen live in more than 25 countries. In addition to designing numerous Broadway shows he has created the theatrical lighting for the films: Spinal Tap 2, Marty Supreme, Ghostbusters, Nine, Rock of Ages, Joyful Noise, and Neil Young Trunk Show among others. Some of his Episodic Television shows include: The Problem with Jon Stewart for Apple+, David Letterman’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction for Netflix, Game Theory with Bomani Jones for HBO and Andrew Schulz’ weekly YouTube show Flagrant, as well as the upcoming HBO Series My Favorite Murder.

He adapted the lighting of the Broadway shows Just For Us for HBO and Billy Crystal’s Mr. Saturday Night for Broadway HD. Other television designs include the (RED) Concert Broadcast from Times Square with U2, Bruce Springsteen and Kanye West, U2’s Top of The Rock performance for The Tonight Show, episodes of Documentary Now!, as well as pre-tapes for Saturday Night Live and Seth Meyers. He has designed many Comedy specials for Netflix, Amazon, Comedy Central and YouTube including for Sarah Silverman, Louis C.K., John Mulaney, Bill Burr (at Fenway Park), Ray Romano, Pete Davidson, Joe Rogan, Kevin James, Cristela Alonzo, Nate Jackson, Catherine Cohen, Dana Carvey, Sam Jay and Bridgette Everett.

He has designed multiple New Year’s Eves gags for the band Phish at Madison Square Garden as well as Concert Tours for Neil Young and Alice in Chains. Some of his televised concerts include; Mary J. Blige, Tim McGraw, Sam Smith and Garth Brooks. He adapted the lighting for: Jack Harlow No Place Like Home, a VR Concert for Meta as well as The Scorpions at Madison Square Garden for an international broadcast. He was the Production Designer for NYC Still Rising at Madison Square Garden as well the Metamoon Music Festival and the Opening Ceremony of World Pride NYC, both at Barclays Arena.
