As a recent graduate of Virginia State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications I have hands-on experience in journalism, broadcast production, public relations, and digital media. As an intern with the Office of Communications at VSU, I assisted with planning and promoting university events, writing press releases, creating blog posts, producing social media content, and helping manage the university’s social media platforms. I also managed and created content for my senior class social media, helping increase student engagement and event promotion. Experienced in scriptwriting, storytelling, interviewing, research, and content development for both academic and professional projects. Throughout my coursework and media productions, I worked extensively with cameras, audio equipment, switchers, editing software, and on-air broadcasting. I have experience operating studio equipment, directing productions, filming live and recorded segments, and collaborating in fast-paced team environments. During a summer internship at a TV station, I gained hands-on technical production experience and was the only female production team member trusted to operate switchers, cameras, audio systems, and assist with directing live productions. This role strengthened my leadership, adaptability, technical communication, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
