Description
I see the edit before I take the shot. A light source, a frame, a subject, whatever it may be, and the final cut is already running in my head. That instinct, which started behind a Panasonic camera years ago, has now evolved to match moving pictures. My name is Henry Boody. I am a camera operator and cinematographer based in Monmouth County. Two seasons of live broadcast work at Monmouth Park Racetrack, documentary cinematography, and personal projects built on atmosphere and visual storytelling. I do my best work on set, whether that's scouting locations, collaborating with a crew, or making something that stays with people after the screen goes dark. Available for cinematography, camera operation, PA work, and crew positions throughout New Jersey and New York City.
Special Skills & Experience
Camera operator and cinematographer with a background in live broadcast production and documentary filmmaking.
I've spent two seasons operating a Hitachi SK-HD1000 broadcast camera at Monmouth Park Racetrack, capturing live horse racing simulcasts distributed on FanDuel TV and Fox Sports. The work is entirely unscripted, tracking eight riders at speed through zooms and pans across multiple angles with no opportunity for a second take. Throughout my time here, I've built a sense for framing shots under pressure and in time-sensitive moments.
In between seasons at the park, I completed a production internship at Monmouth University's broadcast network, where I rotated through camera operation, audio mixing, broadcast graphics, commercial timing, and video switching for live multi-sport coverage on FloSports. The range of roles gave me a working understanding of every position in a control room.
I served as lead cinematographer on a documentary covering the Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music at Monmouth University. This involved operating the camera for interviews and b-roll, collaborating on shot composition and lighting setups, and supporting pre-production from location scouting to technical coordination.
Currently in production on a self-directed short film centered on visual storytelling, shot on a Nikon Z5. The project has been months in the making and is the first in which the creative vision is entirely my own.
